Selective deep desulfurization with less hydrogen consumption in LCO

Abstract

CoMo and NiMo catalysts supported on alumina-silica, alumina coated zeolite, and titania were examined in their HDS activities and hydrodearomatization degree of aromatics for both LCO and model compounds. Reaction pathway of refractory sulfur components was investigated using GC-AED, GC-MS and HPLC, in order to find most effective sulfur removal catalyst with less hydrogen consumption. Solid state NMR, TEM, and XRD were applied to elucidate the catalyst structure and its correlation with the catalyst activity of HDS and hydrodearomartization.
