Self-Similarity and Energy-Dissipation Rate Fluctuations in Turbulence

Abstract

A similarity hypothesis leading to extended self-similarity (ESS) and generalized extended self-similarity (GESS) in turbulence is proposed by extending the self-similarity ansatz for the coarse-grained energy-dissipation rate fluctuation (CGEDR). Furthermore we discuss the Langevin dynamics for CGEDR in developed turbulence.
