Abstract
Semiconductor photonic dots were fabricated by selectively growing ZnS dots on a GaAs substrate. The optical properties of the dots were examined by optical reflection spectroscopy and the results were compared with computed optical resonance modes. The photonic dots performed as visible wavelength-size optical resonators with each resonance exhibiting Q values on the order of 160-300.
