Abstract

A small, low-cost surface-mount type 10 Gbit/s optical receiver module was developed. A plastic package with a three-dimensional circuit structure, which enables high speed operation was applied to the optical module. A new simplified high speed signal line structure was applied to the package. The fabricated module had a detection bandwidth of 9 GHz with sensitivities of less than -15.8 dBm.
