    Abstract

Confused, but not dazed: Totally in contrast to SnIV complexes of normal porphyrins, SnIV complexes of N-confused oxoporphyrins can strongly bind halides at the axial position with pronounced fluorescence enhancement (see scheme; Ar = Ph, p-CF3C6H4, p-CH3C6H4) and can thus be regarded as a novel prototype of fluorescence halide sensors.
