Specific recognition of the protein modified with hyaluronan by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells

Abstract

It has been reported that LSECs have abilities of high phagocytosis and antigen presentation, and induce immune tolerance to specific antigens. To induce specific immune tolerance, it is thought to be important to deliver antigens to the LSECs precisely. We have studied the targeting to LSECs using HA as ligand, reported the bioconjugates composed of HA. In this report, an antigenic protein, OVA, was modified with hyaluronan to induce the antigen specific immune tolerance through selective delivery of antigen to LSECs.
