Structural characterization of the high-temperature phase V on the PbS—Bi2S3 join

Abstract

Starting from a material having the composition of PbS 2 Bi2S3, crystals of phase V, which are stable above 675 °C and below 736 °C, have been synthesized by the evaporation method. The syntheses which were carried out by applying various temperature gradients yielded three different types of crystals. The cell dimensions and space groups of these crystals are: [formulaomitted] They have been denoted, in this order, by V-l, V-2, and V-3 respectively.
