Abstract

Alloys of composition Zr(Cr0.8-xCoxV0.2)2 have been synthesised with the C14-type Laves phase. They are very active and readily absorb large amounts of hydrogen. The effects of the (CoxV0.2)/(Cr0.8-x) substitution have been studied with regard to alloy and hydride stability and maximum hydrogen content.
