Abstract

Wheelchair users often complain about uncomfortable vibrations as a result of road asperity. This paper proposes a method to evaluate road roughness and pavement gaps from the viewpoint of wheelchair users. A part of this study has already been reported on other paper (Oeda 2003).This paper presents the methodology used in the study and reports two points that have not been published before, the way to calculate the impact vibration using mathematical model, the comparison with the perception of ordinary persons.
