Abstract
Temperature dependences of magnetic susceptibility χ(T) and 115In Knight shift K(T) for YbInNi4 have been measured. χ(T) is well fitted to a Curie-Weiss (CW) law above about 45 K. It exhibits a deviation from the CW law below about 20 K. The value of 115K, which is -14% at 6 K, decreases in its absolute value with increasing temperature. A plot of χ(T) vs. K(T) is linear between 6 and 260 K, suggesting that the deviation of χ(T) from the CW law is an intrinsic property of YbInNi4 and is due to the crystalline field effect.
