There are various sounds in supermarkets without systematic design. In order to describe the ideal sound environment of supermarket, the questionnaire survey to managers and customers and the interview with manager ware examined. Muzak are most noticeable for customers. Muzak are annoying when they are too loud or noisy. The sounds from promotion tools using public address systems are often felt noisy because they were usually reproduced by loud and low-quality sound reproduction systems. Generally, the repetitious sounds and voices are felt annoying.
