Abstract
Highly ordered porous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes were prepared by electrochemical method. By alternating current electrodepositing, FeCo alloy nanowire arrays were fabricated in the porous alumina template in a mixed electrolyte of CoSO4 and FeSO4. The microstructures of membranes and nanowire arrays were characterized by XRD, TEM and VSM. The results show that the Fe0.5Co0.5 nanowire arrays get uniform and regular with a preferred crystal face (200) during growing, a highly perpendicular magnetic anisotropy with remnant magnetization ratio 0.7 and coercivity (1700 Oe) for applied field paralleled to the nanowire arrays is demonstrated. A proper heat treatment enables to greatly enhance the coercivity and remnant magnetization ratio.
