Abstract

A metalorganic framework of iron (III) and mellitic acid was synthesized. The crystal structure of the MOF determined by single crystal X-ray analysis was isostructural to MIL-116. It was applied as a lithium-ion battery cathode active material and showed a performance of ca. 100 mAh/g after 60 cycles. It also showed capacitance of 43 mAh/g at a 10 C rate.
