In this chapter the Nelson model is studied, which was investigated by Nelson  who succeeded in renormalizing an ultraviolet cutoff function and defining Hamiltonian without cutoffs. This model describes an interaction between non-relativistic spinless nucleons and a scalar meson field. The existence of the ground state of the Nelson Hamiltonian with/without cutoffs is proven.
