Abstract

The mandibles of the larvae of Ooencyttus nezarae parasitizing
the egg of the bean bug, Riptertus clavatus THuNBERG, were observed in detail to
determine the nulmber of the larval instars in this parasitoid. The observation
showed that O. nezarae larvae have five distinct instars, based on our observation,
the number of larval instars in other species of Oaencyrtus is also considered to be five.
