This paper is concerned with the study of the relationship between the thermal properties of poly(hexafluoro-1,3-butadiene), poly-HFBD, and anionic polymerization conditions initiated with CsF. Comparison of decomposition temperature measurements and thermal expansion coefficients are described. Poly(HFBD) produced with CsF in toluene showed excellent thermal properties compared with poly(HFBD) produced in tetrahydrofuran. The possible reason for the difference is considered to be the effect of the molecular weight.
