The calixarene-fullerene interaction, which causes only a slight change in the absorption spectra, has been substantiated by calorimetric measurements: the ΔHo values are comparable with those obtained from the association constants estimated by a spectroscopic method. Furthermore, we determined the association constant between homooxacalixarene and fullerene derivatives with a porphyrin moiety by fluorescence spectra.
