    Abstract

We synthesized poly (dehydroallanine) derivatives (PDA) which have two amide groups at a -position. The phase transition temperatures of the polymer are decreases with increasing sides of alkyl group. The thermal hystereses of phase transition of polymer 1 (R 1=Et, R 2=Me)and 2 (R 1,R 2=Et) are 3 and 13 °C. The large hysteresis of polymer 2 was probably caused by strong hydrophobia interaction and strong hydrogen bonding among the polymers. The hysteresis of the polymers remains unchanged in the presence of addition salts.
