In this research, a three-dimensional non-linear finite element analysis was carried out for simulating some physical tests performed on a model slope stabilized with skewed anchors. The main aim of numerical analysis was the evaluation of the anchor skewing on landslide stability and the understanding of failure mechanism of anchored slope. Soils were modeled using the Drucker-Prager failure criteria, while the interfaces at the side walls and the base of the model were simulated using conventional plane interface elements. The stress states inside the slope mass were investigated during landslide. The sim ulation results could substantiate the trends of the laboratory model test, and thus, could pave the way for a better understanding of the failure mechanism of soil mass during landslide.
