Abstract

The authors have investigated the three-dimensional structure of ICRF waves in toroidal plasmas based on a cold-fluid analysis. Wave fields launched by the poloidal antenna current are obtained in a realistic geometry. By obtaining the wave form, quantitative estimation of the coupling efficiency becomes possible and the deteriorating effects of scrape-off plasmas are investigated. The transmission coefficient of the wave guide launcher can be as large as that of the loop antenna.
