Abstract
Three new triterpenoid saponins, 1-3, were isolated from the roots of Acanthophyllum squarrosum. Their structures were established mainly by 2D NMR techniques as 3-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→2)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl- (1→3)]-β-D-glucuronopyranosyl-gypsogenin-28-O-β-D- xylopyranosyl-(1→3)-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-D- xylopyranosyl-(1→4)-3-O-acetyl-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-3, 4-di-O-acetyl-β-D-fucopyranoside (1), 3-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→2)-[β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→3)] -β-D-glucuronopyranosyl-gypsogenin-28-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-(1→ 4)-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-[5-O-acetyl-α-L- arabinofuranosyl-(1→3)]4-O-acetyl-β-D-fucopyranoside (2), and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-quillaic acid-28-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-L-arabinopyranosyl- (1→2)-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (3).
