Abstract
The ultrafast relaxation process due to the S2→S1 IC was revelead by time-resolved fluorescence and absorption spectroscopies. The decay-time constant of the S2-fluorescence of the J-aggregate was determined to be 360 ± 70 fs. The recovery from the bleaching of the S2-exciton band was also studied by the pump-probe spectroscopy and the decay-time constant was consistently obtained to be 300 fs.
