Background: We report on two cases of Bowen's disease of the eyelid successfully treated with imiquimod. Case report: Case 1. A 98-year-old man presented with an ulcerative skin eruption over his left lower eyelid. An excisional biopsy was performed, and pathological examination revealed Bowen's disease. Application of 5 % imiquimod cream every 3 days for 2 weeks resulted in complete clearance of the tumor. Case 2. An 83-year-old man presented with a gradually enlarging, irregular-surfaced lesion over his left upper eyelid. We performed a biopsy of the lesion and confirmed the diagnosis of Bowen's disease. After regression of the tumor on imiquimod treatment, we resected the tumor completely. Conclusions: Topical imiquimod is a useful treatment option for Bowen's disease of the eyelid.
