Abstract
A lower-hybrid current drive analysis model is presented. This is a model to evaluate the current drive efficiency corresponding to a continuous rf-wave spectrum in the presence of the toroidal dc electric field. The two-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation itself is solved analytically to obtain the distribution function for resonant electrons in the velocity region. A simple expression for the current drive efficiency is derived by using the analytical solution.
