    Abstract

We have developed a thin and flexible smart card with EPD (Electronic Paper Display) using QR-LPD™ (Quick-Response Liquid Powder Display) technology. The extremely low energy consumption display applications can be realized by utilizing the image holding property with no energy consumption. In this study, we combined flexible EPD with wireless energy and data transfer system in order to realize extremely thin, light weight and flexible smart card that has dot matrix EPD. The possibility of wireless smart card with flexible EPD using QR-LPD technology is discussed.
