Abstract

Wormhole formation is studied numerically by using a spherically symmetric cosmological code. Preparing a suitable initial inhomogeneity of a scalar field, we find that wormhole formation occurs. The criterion of wormhole formation is investigated and we find that it is in good agreement with the result of the thin-wall approximation.
