デトロイトにおける地区単位の積極的非都市化に関する研究:都市計画の地と図を反転させた多元的非営利セクターの相互作用

The idea of a "compact city" plan has become common in Japan with population declining. However, these plans do not draw a future for the areas where infrastructure will be decommissioned and have little connection to the grassroots activities that are trying to use the vacancies. This research looks into a citywide plan of Detroit, Michigan created by the foundations that also support the grassroots in the area, called the Detroit Future City. By organizing 1)the long term changes of the plans of the city and 2)the developments of grassroots from documentary records and interviews, the research argues that there has been a reversal in the figure-ground of planning in Detroit Future City to encourage efforts of "active neighborhood deurbanization" and that the reversal was made possible by the interactions of nonprofits that developed grassroots activities.
