抄録
Matsumoto Kamejiro's "Genbun-taisho Kanyaku-nihon-bunten(言文対照漢訳日本文典,1904)" was a widely used grammar text book for Chinese students learning Japan language between the late Meiji to the early Showa period. It raises the question, why Matsumoto's Japanese grammar book was favored by Chinese students. In this paper, I have analyzed "Genbun-taisho Kanyaku-nihon-bunten" and researched on the characteristics of Matsumoto's 'manufacturing knowledge.' As results, I clarified that, Matsumoto's textbooks contains the western style of classification of a part of speech, yet in the grammatical explanations, the terminologies of Japanese language had been used. Also, for Japanese unique expressions, he added explanations. He attempted to construct the 'second manufacturing process(二次的加工)', which involves the concept of comparing Japanese and Chinese language.
