A simple supersonic jet fluorimeter with a xenon arc lamp

    抄録

    A simple, inexpensive supersonic jet fluorescence system, involving a 4-in diffusion pump, a supersonic nozzle, a xenon arc lamp and a photomultiplier tube with a current to voltage converter, is described. The system was evaluated with anthracene. The spectral resolution was better than that obtained by low-temperature fluorescence methods where organic glasses are used. Initial results indicated a sensitivity of considerably greater than 10 μg s-1.
