Anomaly of [Formula Presented] shell closure in neutron-rich Be and B isotopes studied via delayed neutron emitting [Formula Presented] decay

We investigated the [Formula Presented] decay of the neutron drip line nucleus [Formula Presented] by means of double and triple coincidence measurements of [Formula Presented] rays, delayed neutrons, and [Formula Presented] rays. The decay sequences were established and new values of the half-life and branching ratios were obtained. The decay scheme obtained is characterized by a single dominant branch leading to a [Formula Presented] state in [Formula Presented] with a branching ratio of [Formula Presented] which subsequently emits a delayed neutron with an energy of [Formula Presented] The excitation energy and width of the [Formula Presented] state were determined to be [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented] respectively. The excitation energy and width of this level as well as the [Formula Presented] value were treated in terms of a simple shell model and found to be strongly related to the [Formula Presented] shell gap quenching [Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented].
