N2 - Blood pressure is regulated by many physiological systems in humans. In the vasopressor system, for example the renin-angiotensin system is thought to play an important role, where angiotensin II, which is produced from the cleavage of angiotensin I by angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) shows a potent vasocontractive activity. In this review, preparation of bioactive peptides from natural resources as well as their underlying antihypertensive mechanism will be discussed.
