The authors regret the following corrections should be made to the expression in sample numbers and calculation errors in Fig. 1B, Fig. 2A, B, Fig. 4A–G. We also amended corresponding main text. The following paragraph contained an error in the original publication. 2. Materials and Methods 2.9. Statistical analysis For multiple-group comparisons, a one-way ANOVA, followed by the post hoc Tukey test, was used. 3. Results ANP inhibited E-selectin expression levels induced by LPS in HPAEC Four hours after incubation of HPAECs with LPS, E-selectin expressions were significantly increased at both gene and protein levels dose-dependently. Experimental acute lung injury model First, it was confirmed that E-selectin and TNF-α gene expressions in mouse lung vascular endothelial cells were increased 4 h after LPS injection, and ANP pretreatment significantly attenuated the induction of E-selectin and TNF-α gene expressions in mice (Fig. 2A and 2B). Total cell counts and the differential cell counts including macrophages, neutrophils, and lymphocytes were significantly lower in the BAL fluid of ANP-treated mice compared to the control mice after LPS stimulation (Fig. 4A–4D). Fig. 1. Data are expressed as means ± SE of five independent experiments; *P < 0.05, compared with vehicle control. Fig. 2. Data are expressed as means ± SE; n = 4 per condition; *P < 0.05. Fig. 3. Data are expressed as means ± SE; n = 5 per condition; *P < 0.05. Fig. 4. Data are expressed as means ± SE; n = 5 per condition; *P < 0.05. The corrected version is as given below. 2. Materials and Methods 2.9. Statistical analysis For multiple-group comparisons, a one-way ANOVA, followed by the post hoc Tukey test and two-way ANOVA followed by the Fisher's LSD was used. 3. Results ANP inhibited E-selectin expression levels induced by LPS in HPAEC Four hours after incubation of HPAECs with LPS, E-selectin expressions were significantly increased at both gene and protein levels. Experimental acute lung injury model First, it was confirmed that E-selectin and TNF-α gene expressions in mouse lung vascular endothelial cells were increased 4 h after LPS injection, and ANP pretreatment tend to attenuate the induction of TNF-α gene expressions in mice (Fig. 2A and 2B). Increase in total cell counts and macrophages was canceled in the BAL fluid of ANP-treated mice compared to the control mice after LPS stimulation (Fig. 4A and 4B). Fig. 1. Data are expressed as means ± SE; *P < 0.05, compared with vehicle control. Fig. 2. Data are expressed as means ± SE; n = 4–3 per condition; *P < 0.05. Fig. 3. Data are expressed as means ± SE; n = 4 per condition; *P < 0.05. Fig. 4. Data are expressed as means ± SE; n = 4–7 per condition; *P < 0.05. The corrected figures are as given below. [Figure presented] However, the main outcomes or results are unchanged. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
