In this chapter, we describe an electronic dog nose based on a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) immunosensor for highly sensitive detection of aromatic nitro compounds leaking from landmines or explosives. To measure explosives on an SPR immunosensor, the vapors of the target substances are sampled using a preconcentrator. Here, we explain the principle of SPR immunosensors, production of antibodies, method for the measurement of trinitrotoluene (TNT), and sampling processes of aromatic nitro compounds.
