Effective prestress and creep behavior in two-way prestressed steel plate-concrete composite slabs

This study presents a new prestressing technique for the steel plate-concrete composite slab by using the pretensed bottom plate as a tensile reinforcement and as a form in casting the concrete. However, it is one of the most important things for its practical use to predict the reduction of initial prestress due to creep and shrinkage of concrete exactly. The paper presents an outline of the two-way prestressing technique, and then, presents the creep behavior of the two-way prestressed composite slab by both creep tests and numerical analysis.
