Force sensor probe using quartz crystal resonator having104 measurement range for mechanical characterization of spheroids

Recently, evaluation of biological activity of spheroids without dissolution is quite important. In this study, we focus on a force sensor for mechanical characterization of spheroids. The force sensor probe which has wide measurement range is highly required for evaluating stiffness of spheroid in medium environment because spheroid has nonlinear mechanical characteristics. Herein, we present a force sensor probe using quartz crystal resonator (QCR). The proposed force sensor probe has wide measurement range of 104 and waterproof structure. We evaluated its performance and mechanical characterization of HepG2 spheroids by using the proposed force sensor probe.
