Gene delivery responding to PKA signal using bio-nanocapsule

    We recently proposed the novel gene-regulation system responding to cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) and attempted to apply this system to living cell. On the other hand, Kuroda et al has established a gene and drug delivery using bio-nanocapsule (BNC) and the partcles are able to mediate efficient targeted gene delivery to cultured human hepatocytes and to human hepatoma cells in vitro and in vivo. To put our system to practical use, we attempt to combine our PKA responsive gene delivery system with BNC. In this study, we were successful to intracellular signal-responsive regulation of delivered gene-expression in hepatocytes using BNC.
