Glacio-hydro-isostasy and underwater Jomon sites along the west coast of Kyushu, Japan

抄録

There are a number of underwater Jomon sites along the west coast of Kyushu. Their ages are about 6000-5000 yr BP, and they are several meters below the present sea-level. The main cause of the sinking of these Jomon sites seems to be hydro-isostatic adjustment after the last deglaciation. The relative sea-levels inferred from these underwater Jomon sites seem to be consistent with crustal tilting related to the postglacial hydro-isostatic adjustment. -from English summary
