抄録

A glass melting test in an acoustic levitation furnace has been carried out in a microgravity environment of 0. 1-0. 001 G for about 20 sec. Composition of the glass was 65CaO multiplied by (times) 25Ga203 multiplied by (times) 10GEO2(in mol%). The heat source of the acoustic furnace was a 1000W halogen lamp. The sample had begun to melt just before entering into microgravity. Its shape was that of a sphere due to surface tension in the molten state.
