N2 - The glass transition dynamics was analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) in the poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) material either in a near-amorphous (NA) state or with a high crystallinity level. The crystallization kinetics of PLLA was also analyzed by both differential DSC and optical microscopy. The PLLA material was synthesized using conventional polycondensation procedures. Both conventional and temperature modulated DSC were found to be suitable to describe the crystallization kinetics and melting of PLLA, that may be used in the processing of this material with a desired crystallinity degree.
