抄録

The fundamental features of Darrieus blade performance in a Darrieus type cross flow water turbine, were clarified by theoretical and experimental studies. A method for prediction of blade performance was described. Guiding principles for determining preferable blade profile and setting attitude of runner blades for high efficiency designing of runners are given. The effect of casing configuration on runner efficiency and the cavitation performance was studied experimentally. The hydraulic performance of Darrieus type turbine was compared with those of conventional low head water turbines.
