N2 - We reviewed 29 patients of chronic hepatitis C treated by interferon (IFN) regarding the incidence of IFN retinopathy and risk factors. IFN retinopathy developed in 15 patients (52%). Association of systemic hypertension (p=0.0078) and elevated serum virus level (p=0.0022) were identified as risk factors of IFN retinopathy by stepwise multiple logistic regression analysis. Following factors were not associated with the occurrence of retinopathy : sex, age, body weight, association of diabetes, body mass index, serotype of hepatitis C virus, efficacy of IFN treatment, type of IFN and method of IFN administration.
