Polybenzimidazole-wrapped carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is grafted by quaternized 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane (DABCO) and used as a new electrocatalyst for the anion-exchange membrane fuel cells after loading of platinum nanoparticles. Single-cell measurements reveal that the power density of the cell is 58.8mWcm-2, higher than that of non-grafted analogue. We found the grafting approach to be a promising strategy to avoid leaching of the water-soluble quaternized ionomer.
