抜粋

Characteristics of in-cylinder gas flow of a two cycle uni-flow typed engine were measured by Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV). Three velocity components were measured at the upper part of the combustion chamber and tangential velocity was measured at several sections along the cylinder axis under the motoring condition. The radial distribution of swirl velocity changes its profile from a near solid-body-rotation pattern in the early compression stroke into a flat-top trapezoidal pattern along the course of compression and expansion stroke. Axial interchange of angular momentum exists in the early compression stroke which is strongly related to the uneven distribution of angular momentum along the cylinder axis and the oscillation of each velocity component, whose period is a little smaller than that of in-cylinder swirl rotation. A secondary air flow in the upper part of the combustion chamber is inferred from the measured radial and axial velocities in the early compression stroke.
