Measurements of magnetic fields of K-complexes in sleep MEG activities and the source estimation

Brain activity during sleep, in particular K-complexes, was investigated. These waveforms are analyzed based on both topographic EEG (electroencephalogram) maps and magnetic field measurement. Electric potentials and magnetic fields over the surface of the head are calculated by computer simulation. Comparison of computer simulations with the measured data, particularly an MEG (magnetoencephalogram), suggests that the source of K-complexes can be modeled by two current dipoles.
