Mechanical characterization of a single synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 cell in different osmolarity solutions

We report the evaluation results of Young's modulus of single Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 cell in normal and high osmolarity conditions. The measurement is realized by using a microfluidic chip on a microscope with an optical tweezers system. The Young's modulus is measured by compressing the cell and measure the deformation and cellular reactive force. We measured wild type cells and showed the difference of Young's Modulus of single cell in different osmolarity conditions.
