Method of noise-canceling for an instrumentation using a strain-gage

Under practical working conditions, signals from a strain gage are inaccurate because of noise. A noise canceling method is proposed for a strain gage used in a closed-loop electrohydraulic servo-controlled fatigue testing machine. The noise originating between the sensor and the analog switch is eliminated by using a single sensor and a rectangular voltage source which switches the polarity of the sensor signal. This method cancels not only the noise on the transmission line, but also the noise on the sensor.
