Novel lithium ion conductive polymers and their conductive mechanism from the view point of complex chemistry

抄録

We have designed novel solid polymer electrolytes which transfer the lithium ion by the rotational motion of the side-chain functional groups. The activation energy of rotational motion is thought to be over ten times lower than the segmental motion of the polymer main chain. The methoxy substituents work as the coordination cites or ligands to the lithium ions. The Arrhenius plots of ion conductivity of our polymer electrolyte determined by AC impedance method indicate that the activation energy of ion conductivity in our polymer is quite lower ≒5 kcal/mol) than conventional PEO (ca. 40kcal/mol). Further information about the mechanism of ion conductivity in this polymer will be discussed.
