Numerical analysis on two dimensional standing spin waves in microstructured exchange-coupled hard/soft bilayer strips

Geometrically confined standing spin wave (SSW) has attracting intense research interests from view point of fundamental physics and practical application to power efficient SW based devices1,2. Exchange coupled metallic hard/soft (h/s) bilayers have been developed for advanced hard magnetic materials or high density magnetic recording media3,4. The material concept of synthesizing complemental magnetic properties through inter-layer exchange coupling is promising for integration of SW devices, considering the narrow SW length down to an order of sub-μm. However, the SW dynamics and available performance in two dimensionally structured ferromagnets have not been clarified yet. In the present study, dynamics of the SSW in microstructured h/s bilayers has been numerically analyzed by micromagnetic simulations.
