In general, the equations of state for detonation product and un-reacted explosive based on un-reacted Hugoniot are used to calculate the states of mixture at the reaction zone in explosive. In recent numerical simulations on the shock initiation of heterogeneous explosives two types of Hugoniot have been used as the un-reacted Hugoniot. One is the reacted Hugoniot obtained by wedge test and the other is Hugoniot estimated by bulk sound velocity point and spike point in shock wave - particle velocity plane. In this paper we carried out the numerical simulations on the shock initiation of heterogeneous explosive using Lee-Tarver model to investigate the effect of the difference in value of parameters and the choice of the mentioned Hugoniots on results of numerical calculations. The results of calculation on shock initiation of heterogeneous explosive such as PBX-9404, Comp. B, PBX-RU80 are compared with published experimental data. The results demonstrate that both types of mentioned Hugoniots can expres s the relation between run distance to detonation and incident pressure which are obtained by shock initiation experiments.
