Numerical prediction of Infection Process by Coupled CFD and SIR model in Indoor Space

The airborne transmission of various bio-aerosols in indoor environment becomes a serious social issue and the development of a prediction method for these transmission routes indoors is needed with regard to the design of healthy and safety indoor air environments. In this paper, first, we introduce the structure of fundamental epidemiological models; SIR model and the Wells-Riley model, and we also indicate the analytical procedure of coupled analysis with CFD-based prediction of flow filed/contaminant distribution and SIR type epidemiological model which consists of three differential equations coupling the change in the population of Susceptibles (S), the population of Infectors (I) and the population of Recovery to an immune state (R), to predict infection processes of residents in indoor spaces.
